MICHELLE WHITNEY, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Michelle Whitney, LCSW is a board certified and state licensed clinical social worker in the state of Oregon. She obtained her graduate degree in Social Work from Portland State University in 2007. Michelle has spent the majority of her career embedded in healthcare, most recently at the OHSU Internal Medicine Clinic. Her specialties include; anxiety, depression, bipolar, PTSD, substance use, persistent pain, chronic illness, life-changing health outcomes and grief/loss. She supports patients and their families that also have co-occurring conditions and is LGBTQ affirmative. Her client-centered approach to therapy aids in empowering people to be the author of their own story in and outside of the counseling hour.
Therapeutic Approach: CBT, ACT, MI, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, Trauma-informed and Person-centered.
She considers her work both a passion and a privilege, “People never cease to amaze me with their strength and resiliency.”
In her free time, you will find her creating her next big adventure alongside her husband and two young children.

KENDRA SPIELMAN, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Kendra is a board-certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oregon. She obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In a few words, Kendra’s style is down to earth, collaborative, and relational. She believes that laughter is therapeutic and swearing is more than welcome.
Kendra joins clients in navigating the ‘unexpecteds’ that come with life and strengthening into their authentic selves in the process. She is passionate about partnering with individuals of all identities and believes that anti-racism and social justice are important aspects of mental health and systemic change.
Kendra identifies as a generalist provider for individuals and couples, specializing in life transitions, anxiety, depression, and intra/interpersonal relationships. In particular, she enjoys partnering with young adults as they work through the growing pains often experienced in that season of life. Kendra believes that a connecting therapeutic relationship can be foundational for deep-rooted change. She integrates an eclectic mix of approaches to aid in this process, including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Gottman Method.
When not working, Kendra spends her time adventuring life with her pup and exploring all the goodness that this state, country, and world have to offer.

Deshawn is a licensed professional Counselor intern with the state of Oregon and member of the National Board of Certified Counselors . He holds a Master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Palo Alto university, California. Deshawn specializes in treating adults, adolescents, and families navigating divorce, phase of life transitions, grief, substance use and harm. Deshawn is passionate about therapeutic relationships between client and therapist. He brings healing through an integrative approach using trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral interventions, and understanding how systemic and institutional challenges impact people in their daily lives. His five short years of clinical work is brilliantly accompanied by his passion as a high school running backs coach. When off the field and out of the office, you can find Deshawn with his family exploring Portland’s incredible outdoors and culinary scene!
